The ultra-compact low-cost EDFA is a small form factor module with a
cooler-less pump laser that offers economical amplification for a wide range
of applications. It is designed to amplify from one to eight channels with
100 GHz or 50 GHz ITU-T grid in the C-band.
A standard 6-pin electrical connector (MOLEX 87089-0616) allows for easy
electrical connectivity. The ultra-compact EDFA is Telcordia compliant. |

The compact low-cost EDFA is a small form factor module with a
cooler-less pump laser that offers economical amplification for a wide range
of applications. It is designed to amplify from one to eight channels with
100 GHz or 50 GHz ITU-T grid in the C-band. This module is ideal for today’s
highly dynamic networks and cost sensitive market.
A standard 6-pin electrical connector (HIROSE DF11-6DP-2DSA) allows for
easy electrical connectivity. A standard RS232 or I2C electrical
interface is provided for full functional EDFA. The compact EDFA is
Telcordia compliant. |

Lightwaves2020's MSA compliant gain block is designed for single-channel
or banded channel amplification. It is a direct, low-cost drop-in
replacement of existing high cost EDFAs.
The EDFA gain block includes a 980 nm pump laser, input monitor and input
isolator, output monitor and output isolator, and a reel of optimized
erbium-doped fibre. These components are contained within a compact 70 x 90
x 12 mm package.
A user-friendly MSA compatible 20-pin interface is included to enable the
device to communicate with control electronics. The MSA EDFA is Telcordia
compliant. |

Lightwaves2020's MSA compliant single channel full function EDFA combines
state-of-the-art control electronics, firmware and highly reliable optics
within a small form factor package to offer compact, economical
amplification for a variety of optical signals.
This product offers highly accurate Automatic Gain Control (AGC) and fast
transient suppression, automatic constant output power Control (APC) and
automatic constant current (ACC) via an RS232 command interface. The MSA
EDFA is Telcordia compliant.

Lightwaves2020 offers a full range of industry leading, low cost
Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) light sources. Using proprietary EDFA
technology, Lightwaves2020's compact ASE sources provide up to 10dBm output
power across the C-band. And the devices are extremely compact, making them
ideal for applications that require a built-in compact broadband light
source.
Lightwaves2020 compact ASE light sources exhibit excellent performance,
including spectral and power stability. In addition, customers can choose
between a standard or flattened spectrum output to best meet their
application requirements. The ASEs are normally shipped with a standard
RS232 or I2C electrical interface, although customised interface
designs are also available. Lightwaves2020's low-cost, compact ASE sources
have passed Telcordia GR1312 tests. |
