beginning of 2005 as a joint venture between the Chinese listed company, Star
Hi-Tech (Stock code: 000676) and a well known US fibre-optic company in Silicon
Valley.
Star Opto specialises in the design & manufacture of innovative active
optical components for state of the art fibre-optic networks. The Star Opto
product line includes semiconductor lasers, detectors, opto-electronic devices,
opto-transmitter/receiver modules, which have applications in various fields
such as telecom, datacom, broadcast and CATV. Offering To-can, ROSA, TOSA , BOSA,
transmitter/receivers and transceivers (BiDi, SFF, SFP and XFP, CWDM and DWDM)
with different data rates and packages, the key technology and intellectual
property rights are self-owned.
The modern facility, located in Star Industrial Park, Shenzhen, a few miles
north of Hong Kong, has a total of 5,000 square metres of engineering,
manufacturing and 1,000 square meters of administrative space. Star Opto is
going to registered to ISO9001(2005), ISO14001(2006), and OHSAS 18000 and now is
promoting 6 Sigma. In order to win customer's trust with excellent quality, the
design, package and quality assessment of Star Opto's products strictly conforms
to IEC and Bellcore (Telecordia) standards.
