15GHz RF Over Fibre Module

The Tx unit using an optical transmitter converts RF to Optical signal, and the Rx unit converts Optical to RF signal. The two units are connected by the customer’s fiber.

RF Optic’s RF over Fiber modules (RFoF) are suitable for telecommunications and Radar applications.

Satellite, point-to-point antennas, can be connected from several meters to many kilometers away from the control room. Base stations can be connected through fiber to remote sector antennas. Broadcasters can easily distribute their full RF streams over fiber to remote locations, therefore eliminating the need for complex equipment to be installed in far and hard to reach locations. With our wide-band units, cable operators can centrally locate their broadcasting equipment, and connect the RF through fiber to the remote location, thus reducing  the CAPEX and OPEX of their networks significantly.

Programmable Bidirectional RF over Fibre Transceiver

RFOptic has developed an innovative compact bidirectional (2 way) RF over Fibre (RFoF) transceiver. It is comprised of an uplink of Tx and Rx (at 1550nm) and a downlink of Tx and Rx at 1310nm. The transceiver employs WDM technology to use only 1 fibre link instead of 2. An optional control card for SNMP remote management might be added at a later stage. The bidirectional modules are designed for applications where an uplink as well as a downlink are required such as Transmit/Receive antenna interfaces. In such a case, applications are looking for a single fibre solution utilising WDM method.
