The NS high power 1x1 fiber optic switch/on-off modulator is a fast shutter device featuring very low loss, fast response, and high optical power handling. This is achieved using patented non-mechanical configurations with solid-state all-crystal designs, which eliminates the need for mechanical movement and organic materials. The NS fiberoptic switch is designed to meet the most demanding switching requirements of ultra-high reliability, fast response time, and continuous switching operation. The switch is bidirectional. The device can be driven by a cost effective circuit with 12V input voltage and a 0-5 V control signal.

The NS Ultra-Fast Series fibre optical switch is based on a patented electrooptical configuration, featuring low optical loss and wide temperature operation with built-in compensation. The NS fibre optical switch meets the most demanding switching requirements of continuous operations over 25 years and non-mechanical ultra-high reliability (passed Telcordia and space qualifications). The NS Switch driver provides driving signals for the NS series solid state switches. The push-pull output design ensures fast switching time for both rising and falling edges, and it is especially suitable for driving capacitive loads. The standard driver controls one individual switch. Drivers that control multiple switches also are available. It has a built-in protector (LED flash) against higher repetition rate over 5MHz and can be reset by restarting the power.
